Our Why?
We are parents who want to create amazing places for our families. We have been friends since 2004 when we met at Harvard Business School. As the fathers of young kids, we feel the outdoor accommodation space lacks viable options for families who want decent rooms, great food and beverage, and a fantastic experience. We believe that:
- Nature should be celebrated, respected, and protected and that humans should have a better relationship with the environment.
- Spending quality time with our families and friends is important, creates happiness and makes us better/happier people.
- Enjoying the outdoors has many positive benefits and should be accessible and affordable.
- Those that experience/enjoy the outdoors, are more likely to protect it.
- Engaging experiences matter (a focus on creating memories).
- People should be given the opportunity to challenge themselves
- There should be something experiential for adults and kids alike.

Our focus on amazing destinations within a short drive from major cities Our current focus is on the Blue Ridge Mountains, from Virginia down to Tennessee. We have several properties under contract in the region and are in partnership discussions with other landowners. Our ambition is national, and we believe every major city is a potential host to a Sojourner location!
